Kusadasi, Turkey 30 August 2023
Kusadasi – one of Turkey’s beach resort town and a major cruise ship destination on the western Aegean coast - 90km south of Izmir - offers an excellent environment for an unforgettable holiday. Kusadasi is reputed for being one of the most attractive cities of the Aegean and it is a jumping-off point as it is close to the important historical sites including Ephesus, Temple of Artemis, Goddess Artemis, House of Virgin Mary, Seven Sleepers, Didyma, Priene, Miletos. Kusadasi has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters, providing a long tourism season. The city is bathed in sunshine for 300 days of the year.
You can find a beach for swimming even in the city center. While there is a beach right in the middle of Kusadasi the town’s most famous swimming spot is Ladies Beach. You can get there in minutes by taking a dolmus from the times when men and women did not bathe in the sea together. However, nowadays that is most certainly not the case. The long open beach, lined with palm trees, has numerous outlets providing food, drink and deserves its popularity.
Excursions such as Boat trips, Aqua parks, jeep safari, scuba diving and horse safari’s ensure a fun action packed family holiday. Those preferring a more laid back experience can relax on one of the numerous sandy beaches Kusadasi has to offer, which are host to sun-beds, umbrellas and different water-sports.
Kusadasi is a shopper’s paradise with an endless range of shops and bazaars offering excellent value in genuine designer goods, carpets, leather, jewelery, souvenir’s, silks and clothes. The Grand Bazaar in Kusadasi is one of Turkey’s largest shopping treasure troves and a pleasure to explore.

Grand & Orient Bazaars
Since I have visited Kusadasi before and have seen te main sights, today I will spend time at the famous Grand Bazaar and Orient Bazaar. The bazaars are located just a hop, step and a jump from the harbour and are a veritable "shoppers's paradise".The Grand Bazaar consists of arcades of regular type shops many of which specialise in leather-goods, carpets, shoes, giftware, jewellery and watches.
The Orient Bazaar is located in the open, pedestrian only streets and lane-ways next to the Grand Bazaar. The shops and stalls in this bazaar stock a much greater variety of goods compared to the Grand Bazaar, Items on sale here include clothing, hats, shoes, sunglasses, watches, bags, jewellery, souvenirs, gifts, food, etc.

Afternoon tea
Princess continues the British custom of serving high tea in the afternoon. This is quite a nice event everyday. Enjoy a wide selection of teas, or coffee if you prefer, served by attentive waiters in the dining room. The setting is elegant, with a delicious selection of tasty treats: freshly prepared finger sandwiches, cookies and cakes.
After tea time I will go back to the cabin and spend some time on my balcony or take a quick nap in the incredibley comfy bed.
